Introducing Yeo Lamb at the Autumn Great Lakes Food Trail

We welcomed over 200 visitors to our property on Friday 26th April for the Great Lakes Food Trail. What a magnificent day we had with the weather being picture perfect and all the stars aligned for us to have lamb available from the farm for the day.

The beautiful Mum’s Garden Garlic, our Yeo Farm Honey in partnership with Mountain Patch Honey and the gorgeous sheep earring from Handmade by Lacey all set up for the Autumn Trail

Being a Friday we had loads of local families, taking advantage of the school holiday day to visit our farm and see our sheep, in particular our poddies Roger and Judy who enjoyed loads of pats during the day.

In addition to our lamb, we also had the incredible elephant garlic and mushrooms from ‘Mum’s Garden’. This is a family that lives a stone throw away from us down Emu Creek Road and has the most delicious organic produce. The garlic is so LARGE and beautifully mild. Goes perfectly roasted with our lamb leg. Thank you so much to Marieke Raines-Huijbers from “Mum’s Garden” for the beautiful produce.

AND we can’t wait to have more Yeo Farm Honey! Like the mushrooms we were sold out in just a few hours. Thank you to our wonderful beekeepers from Mountain Patch Honey who supplied us with some jars to sell on the day. We will stock up for the next food trail. Just down the road and number two on the food trail, the wonderful winery, Old Inn Road Wine also hosted Bulahdelah Honey, so punters were spoilt for choice!

We also had the most super cute sheep earrings that were locally made by Lacey. Her business is Handmade by Lacey and she sells the most divine gorgeous creative earrings at her parent’s cafe “Cafe on Main” in Bulahdelah. Owners Kevin and Kaye are essentially one of our neighbours from Old Inn Road as well. Such a great community here!

Andrew and his dad Mike took time to chat with everyone about our farm, our regenerative practices and what makes our lamb so good. We had a few different mobs up near the house this trail to view but the main mob are making the most of the feed down on the normally wetter areas whilst we are still dry.

And the lamb!….well it was a sell out! To those people interested in whole or a side of lamb, we are working on that being available in the next three weeks. Em is sending out expressions of interest this week to those who have signed up on our mailing list.

THANK YOU! to all of those people who came and visited our little slice of the mid north coast. Thank you to our neighbours, in particular Annette, who the morning of the trail got Em the most beautiful local flora and flowers from her own garden and her early morning walk, Made our front entrance look the part!

Thank you to our fellow Food Trail producers, we are so lucky to be part of such an amazing community committed to local, fresh and sustainable produce.
